NJ Nature-Based Solutions for a Changing Climate
Communities across New Jersey are turning to nature-based solutions (NBS) to address flooding, extreme heat, and other climate-related challenges. NBS use natural systems and processes to address environmental challenges while providing co-benefits for people and the environment.
This webinar introduces participants to key resources that can help planners, local officials, and conservation professionals learn about, plan for, and implement NBS. Participants will explore the opportunities and challenges associated with incorporating NBS into local planning efforts. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to:
- Identify different types of nature-based solutions and determine which are most effective in various settings and environmental conditions.
- Design and maintain sustainable, ecologically based landscape projects that enhance resilience.
- Use online mapping and data visualization tools to inform decision-making.
