Groundwork Elizabeth

Community solar grant program

Elizabeth is identified by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection as an environmental justice community. The city and surrounding area suffer from climate-related concerns that severely impact its diverse, underserved, urban neighborhoods.

Groundwork Elizabeth is working with community partners to prepare an application for funding for community solar from the NJ Board of Public Utilities under the New Jersey Clean Energy Program.

It is anticipated that the next round of community solar funding will become available in late 2023. Learn more about community solar here.
